Liquor store damaged by fire after vandalism

Posted on Tue, Nov. 29, 2005 Liquor store damaged by fire after vandalism By Justin M. Norton Associated Press An Oakland liquor store was heavily damaged by an apparent arson fire Monday, just days after it was trashed by well-dressed vandals who told the owners to stop selling alcohol to black people, authorities said. Police had no suspects in the fire, which was reported about 1 a.m. They refused to say whether they believed the blaze at New York Market was connected to vandalism last week at the store and the nearby San Pablo Market and Liquor in West Oakland. Deputy Police Chief Howard Jordan said police would seek arrest warrants on charges of terrorist threats, conspiracy, vandalism and robbery against six men suspected of trashing the two liquor stores. Workers at both stores said a group of about a dozen men dressed in suits and bow ties stormed into the shops Wednesday, smashed liquor bottles and knocked over racks of food. The attack at San Pablo Market and Liquor was captured on a video surveillance camera, showing several men smashing glass display windows. ``In both incidents, the suspects entered the store and questioned why a Muslim-owned store would sell alcoholic beverages when it is against the Muslim religion,'' police said in a statement. The vandals, who were black, also ordered the clerks to stop selling alcohol to blacks. A shotgun was also stolen from one of the stores, police said. Minister Tony Muhammad, West Coast leader for the Nation of Islam, has spoken out against allegations the group was connected to the vandalism and condemned the acts. Oakland police said the group, known for wearing suits and bow ties, was not under investigation. Police also said their investigation ``concluded that the individuals responsible are not associated with the Nation of Islam.'' Investigators were looking into the incidents as hate crimes because the stores' owners are of Middle Eastern descent and are Muslims, Jordan said. ________________________________________________________________ Burning somebody's business is a criminal act. But why do Muslim Arabs go and target poor black communities and sell them Alcohol, tobacco, God knows what else?! We shouldn't be the root of evil. And by the way when God said do not kill,cheat,steal,.... he was talking about do not do evil to anyone period, cause SOME Muslims think it's ok to steal from non-Muslims, or sell alcohol to non-Muslims, or cheat non-Muslims..
WRONG!!!
read your Quran people. _________________________________________________________________________ Phew!! That was my rant for the day. Peace out.

Searching for Humanity

Salam, At my age you learn that life is not black & white like we used to think. I know that US soldiers are humans too, I know they have feelings and emotions and they don't hate Iraqis, I know they hate where they at now and they try to make the best of it. I feel bad for them as much as I feel bad for the Iraqi people. I blame Saddam, then I blame Bush for everything that is going on now in Iraq. Meet Michael and check out his Blog .

Boy or Girl? 38 Fun Ways to Guess Your Baby's Sex

Boy or Girl? 38 Fun Ways to Guess Your Baby's Sex

What could be more fun than trying to guess the sex of your baby-to-be? Everyone wants to get in the game. Don't be surprised if someone you've never met stops you at the grocery store, offering a prediction of your baby's gender. For hundreds of years, expecting moms have relied on time-tested methods of guessing their baby's sex. Even though these old wives' tales are far from foolproof, they are certainly more fun than their more reliable successors, amniocentesis and ultrasound. Enjoy guessing your baby's sex! It's a boy if: You didn't experience morning sickness in early pregnancy Your baby's heart rate is less than 140 beats per minute You are carrying the extra weight out front Your belly looks like a basketball Your areolas have darkened considerably You are carrying low You are craving salty or sour foods You are craving protein -- meats and cheese Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy The hair on your legs has grown faster during pregnancy Your hands are very dry Your pillow faces north when you sleep Dad-to-be is gaining weight, right along with you Pregnancy has you looking better than ever Your urine is a bright yellow in color Your nose is spreading You hang your wedding ring over your belly, it moves in circles You are having headaches You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived the number is even.

It's a girl if: You had morning sickness early in pregnancy Your baby's heart rate is at least 140 beats per minute You are carrying the weight in your hips and rear Your left breast is larger than your right breast Your hair gets red highlights You are carrying high Your belly looks like a watermelon You are craving sweets You are craving fruit You crave orange juice You don't look quite as good as normal during pregnancy You are moodier than usual during pregnancy Your face breaks out more than usual You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread Your breasts have really blossomed! Your pillow faces south when you sleep Your urine is a dull yellow in color If you hang your wedding ring over your belly, it moves from side to side If you add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived the number is odd

Five questions non-Muslims would like answered

Salam, Kinzi asked me and some of the fellow Muslims Bloggers to answer this article at Sabah's blog. The article is at LA Times By Dennis Prager. Here is some of the article: Five questions non-Muslims would like answered By Dennis Prager, Dennis Prager's nationally syndicated radio show is heard daily in Los Angeles on KRLA-AM (870). He may be contacted through his website: www.dennisprager.com. THE RIOTING IN France by primarily Muslim youths and the hotel bombings in Jordan are the latest events to prompt sincere questions that law-abiding Muslims need to answer for Islam's sake, as well as for the sake of worried non-Muslims. Here are five of them: Here are my own personal answers; I speak only for myself not for anyone else; (1) Why are you so quiet? Well, Israel occupied Palestinian land and the whole world was quiet for over 50 years, did you bother to ask why that is? A handicap old man being killed by a missile from an F16 killing him and everybody around him on his way from worshiping God, or a whole camp being slaughtered with the blessing of the Israeli army or a rocket hitting the apartment of a political man killing him and 9 of his family members is also called terrorism. While I might not agree with people blowing up themselves, I also do not agree on F16 rocketing civilians. You personally didn't say anything about the F16? I haven't been through what the Palestinian been through these years. I don't know what makes a person strap a bomb around him and go around blowing himself along with everybody around him. Must have been a tough life. I pray for both people to find peace together. (2) Why are none of the Palestinian terrorists Christian? That's a false statement. Wadee Hadad, George Habbash and many Palestinian organization leaders are Christians. (3) Why is only one of the 47 Muslim-majority countries a free country? Easy, most leaders were appointed by The British and were help to stay in power by the Americans. Which is something the US is rethinking. (4) Why are so many atrocities committed and threatened by Muslims in the name of Islam? Well, a lot worse has been done by Christians, remember McVeigh? The Crusades? (5) Why do countries governed by religious Muslims persecute other religions? I would blame this on the government itself not Islam, if you read the history of Islam you would find that Islam is the most tolerance of all. Are there any mosques or temples in the Vatican City? Peace

Replaying the same song all day long ....

Salam, As you know , now I work from home, so I had to do some rearrangements regarding my PC time. I also moved the PC to our bedroom, now I have more privacy , so I can be as messy as I manly can. All day long I have been listening to this SONG. And what makes it worse, I never heard it before, but I'm in love with it, to make things worse my wife is about to choke me to death , I don't think she is very found of seeing me in her face 24/7 LOL. I know I'm laughing but it's not funny, I think I'm gonna start going to auctions Tue-Wed-Thur. That should give her a break eh? Great now I got my kids hooked on this song along with me. Wanna hear something funny my Daughter Laila goes to K4 at the Islamic Center, Ofcourse after watching Grandizer with me (all 76 episodes) she like her dad memorized the opening song by heart. At school she was singing the song to her teacher, and her teacher couldn't believe her ears because I guess she is also a fan of Grandizer, she sent us a request to lend her the DVD's. LOL Not sure if its for her or for the kids, gonna lend them to her either ways. I better turn it off and call it a night before I end up sleeping outside the house, we have a freeze warning tonight. ADC Mourns Loss of Mustafa Akkad, Rima Akkad Monla

ADC Press Release: ADC Mourns Loss of Mustafa Akkad, Rima Akkad Monla Washington, DC, November 11, 2005--The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is deeply saddened by the death of Arab-American producer and director Mustafa Akkad. Akkad passed away today after sustaining serious injuries from one of the three terrorist blasts that hit Amman, Jordan hotels this past Wednesday. ADC reiterates its condemnation of the bombings and calls for a thorough investigation and for those responsible to be brought to justice. Akkad, 75, was in the lobby of the Hyatt hotel with Rima Akkad Monla, his 33-year-old daughter who had just arrived from Beirut that same night, when the blast hit the hotel. Rima was instantly killed. The Akkad family, long-time ADC members and supporters, lived in Los Angeles. However, relatives said Akkad will be buried on Sunday in the Syrian city of Aleppo where he was born, while his daughter will be buried in Lebanon, where she resided with her husband. Akkad was executive producer of the famed Hollywood horror films "Halloween," as well as producer and director of both "The Message" and "Lion of the Desert." Akkad told the Associated Press in 1977 that he made the movie "The Message," to "bring the story of Islam to the West." ADC President Mary Rose Oakar said "ADC finds it sad and disturbing that Mustafa, a man who brought the story of Islam to life in his film 'The Message,' was killed by those who call themselves Muslims. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the families and loved ones affected by this latest horrific tragedy." ### For more information, contact ADC Communications Director Laila Al-Qatami at 202-244-2990. _______________________________________________________________________ Celebrate ADC's 25 Years of Dedicated Service to Civil and Human Rights by: CONTRIBUTING TO AND/OR JOINING ADC https://www.adc.org/membership/ American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) 1732 Wisconsin Ave., NW Washington, DC 20007 Tel: 202-244-2990 Fax: 202-244-3196 E-mail: media@adc.org www.adc.org

A random thought !

Salam, I know the emotions are high and at times like this it is easy to jump to conclusions. I just have any thing to point out. There were report that Israelis were evacuated from the hotel before the explosion. I would like to warn my fellow Brothers & Sisters not to fall into that trap. It doesn't matter whois behind is terror act, we need to stop blaming Israel for everything that went wrong in our lives. Since 1948 we blamed everything on Israel, if we didn't finish our education it was Israel's fault, and if we didn't build a house it was Israel's fault. Israel became our placebo for every little thing that went wrong in our lives. It doesn't matter if they were "Muslims" , "Christians" , "Jewish" , "Arabs" , or whatever nationality they are. They are terrorists and should be tracked down and punished. Violence against civilians is a crime , a suicide bomber or an F16 shooting civilians are both crimes against humanity. May God rest their souls in peace. Peace

A Sad Day :-(

Today has been one long sad day... One of my friends had High blood pressure without him knowing it. He came home 2 days ago after working out, the minute he got in his house his wife asked if he is OK cause he doesn't look good, he answered I just need a glass of water, but he never made it to the refrigerator, he collapsed and had a stroke, then at the hospital they had to operate on his brains to take the blood out from the burst veins in his head. The minute they were done he had another stroke.. Then he has been in a coma, he wont wake up and they said if he stays like this till Sunday they gonna take him off the machine. That's how my day ended. Then When I got home I heard about the explosions in Amman :-( What a dark day it has been :-( I feel sad and angry! Sad for all the violence that is going on in the world. Sad for the dead and their families. Sad that so many innocent lives are cut short because of a cowardly deed. I'm angry this is done in our country. I'm angry some group is hijacking my religion and claiming this is a teaching of Islam. I'm angry at anyone who encourage such acts.

Peace

"DOOM"

My wife had a Hen gathering the other day, so I was forbiden to come home. So I went to the movies. I was torn between JARHEAD and DOOM! I knew Jarhead is a better movie, but I wasn't in a seriouse moood, so I went to see DOOM. The movie is OK , if you are a gamer it's a good movie, the funniest line in the move was played by THE ROCK. Midway through the movie he get caught by Zombies and he goes:
" I'm not suppose to die!!"
it cracked me up. Peace

Why I quit my job :-)

So, I was the Gm for a cellphone company for over 3 years. Then I decided to open my own cellphone shop, but did it in a near city instead of where I live about 60 miles away. Long story short, I had to close the shop and get me a real job. I got hired as an office manager and internet wholesale buyer for a couple of guys who ship cars to Saudi. I have wanted to learn this trade for so long, because I know I can get good at it. The everyday paperwork was OK nothing hard and I was on top of things. Then the online betting and dealing started, somehow I was real good at it. I started networking with major Dealers and wheelers. Then I started buying cars that my employers are not ready to buy because they had enough, then While networking I met an online buyers and exporters who are in the same boat I'm in. So I offered one of them a car that my employers refused to buy, but then was told by a friend it was unethical. So I asked about it and I was told it is unethical to do what I did. Well, being the ethical man I am I confronted my employers and told them I want to their permission to do so and they declined, so I told them I want to get out on my own and become independent, with no hard feelings. I'm working on my wholesale dealership license and then I will be able to work with anyone I want the HALAL way. It's going to be OK insahllah. I already have a list of cars and another list of buyers I just need to match both together. The good news is that I'm now working from home, and this would be embedded in my online time. So, That's why I'm sticking it to the man :-) P.S: If anyone knows a hook up in Saudi or Kuwait who are looking for cars import from the USA. Hook a Bratha up :-) Peace
