Washington, DC, November 11, 2005--Since its release in October, the film "Paradise Now," which follows two Palestinian young men in the occupied West Bank, has generated a lot of controversy, received much media attention, and been submitted for Oscar consideration for best foreign language film. The critically acclaimed and award winning film is directed by Palestinian filmmaker Hany Abu Assad, who is known for his previous international award winning films "Rana’s Wedding" and "Ford Transit." Despite efforts by Warner Brothers to get the word out about this movie, box office ticket sales have been quite low. As you maybe aware, the higher the tickets sales, the longer the movie will play in theatres. Additionally, if ticket sales are strong, it will play in more theatres across the nation. Yes I did 2 weeks ago at
Sunshine Cinema but it is also showing at Lincoln Plaza Theater
The move theater had a survey for the audience after the show too.
People did not move from their seats for almost 5 minutes after the end, trying to let it sink in.
